Agrimony Seeds
Agrimony has a very long and varied history of herbal medicinal use. The English poet Michael Drayton once called
Agrimony the "all-heal" herb. The ancient Greeks used
Agrimony to treat eye ailments, and it was made into brews to cure diarrhea and disorders of the gallbladder, liver, and kidneys. Anglo-Saxons made a solution from the
Agrimony leaves and
seeds for healing wounds in preparation called eau d'arquebusade, or "musket-shot water".
In the United States and Canada, late into the 19th century,
Agrimony was prescribed for skin diseases, asthma, coughs, gynecological complaints, and as a gargling solution for sore throats.
Traditional myth says that when
Agrimony is placed under a person's head, it will induce a deep sleep that will last until removed!
