Alpine Strawberry Seeds
Alpine Strawberries are known for the abundant tiny but extremely fragrant and sweet fruits they produce. This
Alpine Strawberry has been said to be the " best-tasting of all!"
These
strawberries are a favorite in Europe, where for centuries, they were enjoyed by royalty. They are just gaining popularity in America although you can rarely find
Alpine Strawberries in markets because they should only be picked when absolutely ripe - and then they are just too fragile to ship.
Unlike many of their relatives, these very hardy
strawberries cast few runners, making them perfect choices to grow in window boxes, rock gardens, as an ornamental edging or ground-cover, or even indoors!
Alpine Strawberries grow about 10" high and spread about 8". Attractive to birds, bees and butterflies. Fast-growing, blooms spring through fall.
Note, be patient: These take a year to begin to produce fruit and the first year's fruit can be very small. Once established, they will produce fruit all year round if their environment is conducive.
