Chioggia Beet Seeds
The very popular and highly sought
Chioggia
or "Bulls Eye" Beet, is an Italian heirloom dating back to 1840. This beet gets its nick name from the concentric red and white rings that form inside.
After cooking, the flesh turns entirely pick, which is why it is generally enjoyed in its raw form. The
Chioggia Beet
has a mild flavor and it's solid green tops have a smooth, delicious taste. This beet matures early and requires less cooking time then most other beet varieties.
The "Bulls Eye" Beet originated in Chioggia, an Italian coastal town resembling a miniature version of Venice.
Chioggia Beets
wont stain everything the way traditional purple beets will!
