Dixie Queen Watermelon Seeds
Introduced in 1881, the
Dixie Queen Watermelon
also known as the
Cuban Queen Watermelon
has exceptionally sweet crisp red flesh.
Dixie Queen
watermelon is round instead of oblong and can grow up to 50 pounds. The skin is cream color with dark green stripes. The flesh is scarlet red, sweet, crisp and very tasty.
Dixie Queen
is an early watermelon producing sweet melons much sooner than other melons.
Watermelons
should be harvested later in the day rather than in the morning when the fruits tend to be bloated and more likely to crack.
