Dried Spearmint Leaf
Natural, dried spearmint leaves have been used for cooking and medical purposes since the time of the Roman Empire (possibly before).
A medicinal herbal tea made from fresh Spearmint or dried leaves has a very pleasant and refreshing taste. Spearmint tea leaves the mouth and digestive system feeling clean. Mint jelly made from Spearmint is also a long time favorite world wide.
Spearmint has been used in alternative medicine for its anti-emetic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic, restorative, and stimulating properties. Tea made from the Spearmint leaves is used in the treatment of fevers, bronchitis, chills, cramps, chronic gastritis, common cold, headaches, indigestion, morning sickness, motion sickness, nasal congestion, nausea, halitosis, painful menstruation, and various minor ailments.
Spearmint is more mild than its cousin Peppermint and can be tolerated by the more sensitive palete.
As with any herb or supplement, a physician should be consulted prior to use.
