Flame is a relatively recent introduction (introduced in 1988) and is offered by only a few companies.
Looseleaf Lettuces are the easiest type of lettuces to grow. They form no heart or head, as the name indicates.
Looseleaf Lettuce can be harvested leaf by leaf or by the whole plant. Leaves come in a wide variety of shapes and colors including thick, thin, savoyed, flat, red, green, frilled, cut, curled, wavy and crinkly.
