Lemon Verbena is an easy to grow herb with culinary and medicinal uses. It is a lovely addition to any herb garden.
Lemon Verbena will grow profusely in warm climates, giving abundant fresh young leaves for salads, teas or potpourris. This herb is nice to dry mix with other dry herbs in place of salt seasoning, or for multiple other uses in teas, soap etc.

Dried Lemon Verbena can be used make tea or to mix with other dry herbs in place of salt seasoning. There are many recipes using
Lemon Verbena to make ice cream, sorbet, cake, fish, chicken, marinades and salad dressings. Keep in mind if you use fresh leaves, you will need less than if you are using dried since the dried lose a bit of their potency.
Lemon Verbena is a favorite for making teas. Try mixing it with pineapple and apple mint for a unique and refreshing herbal summer blend.
Another fun use of
Lemon verbena is to bury some crushed, dried leaves in a cup of sugar that has been placed in a covered jar or container. Use this sugar to top muffins, fruit, or sprinkle on the top of muffin batter before baking.
