Lucullus Chard Seeds
Lucullus Chard is a beautiful green leaf
chard variety with tender, lime colored midribs. This soft, heirloom
chard makes a perfect substitute for spinach in the hot summer months!
The
Lucullus Chard was introduced about 1914. In 1936, the James Seed Co. printed... "Lucullus Chard grows as large as rhubarb, the white midrib is very broad and heavy, and the leaf is heavily crumpled or "Savoyed."
The midribs and leaves are prepared separately. The midribs are enjoyed and compared to asparagus while the leaves are often used as a spinach substitute.
This
chard provides a delicious, nutritious and beautiful addition to your vegetable or flower garden.
