Omega Flax

Omega Flax, also known as Linum usitatissimum, is native to the region extending from the eastern Mediterranean to India and was probably first domesticated in the Fertile Crescent.

Omega Flax is grown for it's high concentration of Omega-3 oil, a fatty acid essential for human metabolism. Nutritionalists and herbalists often recommend Omega Flax during pregnancy due to it's aid in brain function and development. Due to the effect that has on the brain and nervous system, it is also used to lessen the effects of stress, anxiety and depression.

The Omega Flax plant is an erect annual plant with slender stems. The leaves are green and slender. The flowers are pure pale blue with five petals; they can also be bright red. The fruit is a round, dry capsule, containing several glossy brown seeds shaped like an apple pip.

Warning: Parts of plant are poisonous if ingested
