Sphaerocephalon Allium Bulbs

The Alliium 'Sphaerocephalon' or Drumstick Allium has egg-shaped flowers in summer that start off green, then bloom and develop to pink and then reddish-purple color. The charming purple-red drumsticks bloom in midsummer and then fade as summer wears on. The plants are vigorous and the flowers are long-lasting, and widely used for fresh and dried cut flower arrangements. The shape of the flower head gives this allium the nickname of "Drumstick Allium".

Sphaerocephalon Allium are attractive in a garden bed or border, and have nondescript foliage is hidden which fades away when blooming.
