Red Clover Seeds

Red Clover, also known as Bee-bread, Cow Clover, Meadow Clover, Purple Clover, Trefoil and Wild Clover is native to Europe, Asia, North America, Australia.

Red Clover is a perennial herb that grows up to 16 in tall and has a hairy upright stem. Red Clover leaves have a white crescent marking on them, and pink and purple egg-shaped flower heads.

Red Clover was used by the American Indians for food and as a medicine to treat external sores, burns, and ulcers. Internally, they used it to treat skin disease. Red Clover flowers are being used today by herbalists in infusions to prevent cancer. Red Clover is also being used to help gastric problems, whooping cough and bronchial ailments.

It has been said that Red Clover was once smoked in "anti-asthma" cigarettes.

Red Clover is a great plant for attracting early spring bees.
