Dried Red Clover (Whole blossoms)
Red clover is sweet tasting, popular tonic herb. Red clover is a perennial herb that commonly grows wild in meadows throughout Europe and Asia, and has now been naturalized to grow in North America. The red flowers at the end of the branched stems are commonly dried for therapeutic use.
Red clover has been shown to contain "phytoestrogens" (plant-based chemicals that are similar to estrogen) and is commonly used for women's issues such as; menopausal symptoms, as an alternative hormone replacement therapy, a treatment for infertility and to prevent osteoporosis.
Red Clover has also been traditionally used to treat asthma, pertussis, cancer, gout and high cholesterol. |
