Red Habanero Chili Pepper Seeds
The Red Habanero Chili, also called the Caribbean Red originates from the Yucutan Peninsula in Mexico. This Habanero variety is EXTREMELY HOT, measuring a scorching 445,000 scoville units! This makes it twice as hot as a standard Habanero Chile and over 80 times hotter than an Jalapeno Pepper! As well as the intense heat of this pepper it also has a "fruity" flavor, making the Red Habanero a favorite in salsas marinades and hot sauce.
Sometimes Habeneros are placed in bottles of Taquila or Mezcal to make a spiced version of the drink.
The Red Habanero chilis are similar in size and shape to the Habanero, slightly wrinkled and ripen from lime green to a bright red. These plants are known to be very productive.
Habeneros do best in hot weather and , specifically, in areas with good morning sun. Water these peppers only when they are dry. Over watering will produce bitter tasting peppers. Habeneros also do well as a container plant.
