Roman Chamomile Seeds

Roman Chamomile, also known as Low Chamomile, English Chamomile and Whig plant, is native to western Europe.

Roman Chamomile is a low perennial plant found in dry fields and around gardens and cultivated grounds. Roman Chamomile, if kept pruned back, forms a dense aromatic evergreen ground cover. It can be used between stepping stones and walkways. The leaves of this herb releases an apple like scent when disturbed, making it ideal for traffic areas.

Tea made from Roman Chamomile is stronger and more medicinal than German Chamomile and is popular in aromatherapy, whose practitioners believe it to be a calming agent to end stress and aid in sleep.

In the Language of Flowers from the Victorian Era, Chamomile symbolizes "energy in adversity".

The word chamomile comes from the Greek word for "earth-apple" because of the apple-like scent of the plant.
