Scarlet Nantes Carrot Seeds
The Scarlet Nantes Carrot is fragrant, juicy, sweet and Crisp. They are known for their bright reddish-orange color and superb taste.
These carrots are a favorite fresh or for freezing, canning and juice! Scarlet Nantes are also delicious as baby carrots.

Recipe for Ginger and Carrot Soup:

- 3 TBS Butter
- One large onion, chopped
- 1/4 Cup finely chopped Ginger
- 3 Cloves Garlic, finely chopped
- 6 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1 Cup dry white wine (optional
- 1 ˝ Lbs. Chopped Scarlet Nantes Carrots
- 2 TBS Lemon Juice
- Fresh Italian Parsley
- Curry Powder
- Sour Cream
- Sauté onions, butter, garlic, & ginger for 15 minutes.
- Add broth, wine and carrots and cook until carrots are tender.
- Blend until soup is smooth.
- Add lemon juice and curry and heat for serving if needed (can be served cold).
- Salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley. Serve in bowls with a dob of
sour cream..

Recipe for Rosemary Roasted Carrots:

- Preheat oven to 400degrees. Line baking sheet with foil
- Scrub, but do not peel Carrots. Cut off both ends and slice lengthwise into halves or quarters.
- Add Olive oil, Sea salt and Rosemary to sealable bag.
- Add carrots to bag and knead to evenly coat.
- Spread coated Carrots in a single layer on baking sheet and roast at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Serves: 4 to 6
Companion Plants for Carrots
- Tomatoes - Tomatoes grow better with Carrots but may stunt the Carrots growth
- Beans- (Bad for Tomatoes) Provide nitrogen to Carrots more than some other vegetables
- Allium (onion, chives, etc)- Inter-plant with Carrots to confuse onion and carrot flies.
- Sage, Rosemary and Radishes listed controversially as companion plants. Some say they are beneficial some say they are incompatible.
