Sunbeam Golden Hops

Sunbean Golden originated in 1990 at the USDA Hops Research Farm in Corvallis Oregon. Dr. Al Haunold discovered a seedling from an open pollinated Saazer 38 hop that had golden leaves and redddish-brown stems making a very nice contrast for ornamental uses.

Sunbeam Golden Hop is a beautiful hop variety with lemon-yellow leaves. The beauty of this hop plant has made it popular as an ornamental plant. Unlike many other hop varieties, Sunbean Golden is best grown in partial shade as too much direct, hot sun will tend to brown the edges of the leaves.

Sunbeam is moderately resistant to downy mildew and verticillium wilt and it has a vigorous vine that matures early with good yield.
